The benefits of cork flooring is that it is a natural material, soft and quiet to walk on, makes good thermal insulation, has abrasion resistance and the possibility of renewal. Cork is resistant to fungis and insects. Disadvantages of cork are its inferior resistance to sharp objects, it is not recommended for underfloor heating (except when very thin), its fragmented texture and the liklihood of indentations if cork is thicker.
